To begin configuring a Windows 2000 system for dial-up access, click 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'. From the Control Panel, double click 'Network and Dial-up Connections'
Double click the icon labeled 'Make New Connection'
At the Welcome screen, click 'Next'
Select 'Dial-up to the Internet'.
Click 'Next' .
Select 'I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network'.
Click Next
Select 'I connect through a phone line and a modem'.
Click 'Next.
Leave the Area Code field blank. In the Telephone number field, enter the Dial-Up access number found in the Call Finder for your area, including area code.
Leave 'Use area code and dialing rules' unchecked.
Click 'Next'.
In the field labeled 'User Name', enter: username@tcq.net
(Replace 'username' with your assigned username)
Enter your assigned password.
Click 'Next.
In the box labeled 'Connection name', enter TCQ Internet.
Click 'Next'.
You will be asked if you want to setup an Internet mail account, click 'No'.
Click Next
Click 'Finish'.
To connect to the Internet, just click 'Dial'.
Once you are connected, you can begin using your Internet programs.
