MacOS 9.0 can be configured automatically using the Internet Setup Assistant. To start this program, go into My Computer -> Assistants and click on Internet Setup Assistant.
From the first screen, Click 'Yes'
For 'Do you already have an Internet account', click 'Yes'
Read the introduction and click the right arrow to continue.
In the box labeled 'What would you like to name this configuration', enter tcq.net. Select 'Modem'.
Click the right arrow.
Select the modem you are using, then select Tone.
Click the right arrow.
In the box labeled 'What is the phone number for your configuration?', enter the Dial-Up access number found in the Call Finder for your area, including area code.
In the box labeled 'What name do you use with this server?', enter: username@tcq.net
(Replace 'username' with your assigned username)
Enter your assigned password in the box labeled 'What is your password?'.
Click the right arrow.
Select 'No' for 'Is there an IP address for this configuration'.
Click the right arrow.
Leave the box labeled 'What is the DNS address (or addresses) for this configuration' blank.
In the box labeled 'What is the Domain Name (or host name) for this configuration', enter tcq.net
Click the right arrow.
In the box labeled 'What is the e-mail address for this configuration?', enter your TCQ Internet e-mail address. (username@tcq.net)
In the box labeled 'What is the e-mail password for this configuration?', enter your TCQ Internet password.
Click the right arrow.
In the box labeled 'What is the e-mail account for this configuration?'. enter your TCQ Internet e-mail address (username@tcq.net).
In the box labeled 'What is the e-mail host for this configuration?', enter smtp.tcq.net
Click the right arrow.
In the box labeled 'What is the news group host for this configuration?', enter news.tcq.net
Click the right arrow.
Select 'No' for 'Do you use a proxy server for Internet connections?'
Click the right arrow
Select 'Connect when finished' and click Go Ahead to connect.
Internet Setup Assistant is now complete.
